obtain a code from County Officials before credit card payment
can be made.
Overview
Elected to a four-year term, the County Treasurer serves as the
custodian of all County funds, and as such is responsible for
receipting, recording and investing all money deposited with the
County. The Treasurer is also responsible for maintaining debt
service accounts for all the bonded indebtedness of the County.
Beginning March 1st of each year, the Treasurer collects
delinquent real property taxes and following an extensive
notification title work process, a court order is issued which
allows for the sale of properties, which are more than 24 months
delinquent. The County Treasurer also serves as the agent of
the delinquent tax revolving fund, through which the County is
able to forward to local units the amount of delinquent taxes
due and owing on real property.
The Treasurer is responsible for the sale of dog licenses in the
County and certification of deeds and other real estate title
transfers prior to recording the documents.
The Treasurer is a member of the Plat Board, the Elections
Commission, the County Apportionment Commission, and the County
Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.Dog License

Dog licenses are required for dogs in Schoolcraft County.
New licenses can be purchased at either the County Treasurer's
Office or from the following:

Reasons for licensing:
- Excellent identification - It allows
us the information to provide to individuals or Animal
Control so they can notify you when your lost pet is found.
- It ensures that your dog is rabies
vaccinated.
- It provides proof that the dog legally
belongs to you.
- It's the law.

Renewing Licenses
When renewing a dog license please bring a copy of your
rabies certificate.
Kennel Licenses
Kennel license are also available at the County Treasurer’s
Office. When applying for a kennel license please bring a
Certificate of Inspection. This certificate can be obtained
from the Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department.
Kennel Fees
$10.00 for 10 dogs or less - $25.00 for more than 10 dogs.
